QLD Campervan Compliance — What We Certify

People booking a conversion in Queensland usually ask what certificates the job needs. On a typical Gold Coast converter build, seating, gas and electrical work are arranged as the spec requires, and a QLD mod plate is fitted when the modification needs one. Two codes come up a lot: VSB14 and LH11. A pop-top is a structural change, not just cabinetry. What applies depends on the van and the work. Ask the workshop before you book.

VSB14, LH11 and QLD mod plates

VSB14 is the national light-vehicle modification bulletin people refer to. LH11 is a Queensland modification code that comes up on camper conversions. A QLD mod plate is issued by a licensed certifier when the work needs one. This page does not claim we issue those plates, and it is not a legal sign-off.

Seating changes, gas, and 240 V electrical work each have their own paperwork when the build needs it. Cutting in a pop-top changes the structure of the van, so it can trigger extra checks. None of that is automatic on every job.

Every fitout has a 1-year manufacturer warranty on the build. It covers our workmanship and the parts we supply and install. It does not cover damage you cause, or unauthorised work. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law still apply. Custom vans are outlined on custom fitouts.
