QLD Campervan Compliance — What We Certify

One of the first questions we get about a Queensland campervan conversion is what certification or modification paperwork may be needed. The answer depends on the van and the work being done. Seating changes, gas, 240 V electrical work and structural changes such as a pop-top can all have different requirements, so we confirm the likely pathway with you before the build.

VSB14, LH11 and QLD mod plates

VSB14 is the national light-vehicle modification bulletin commonly referred to for vehicle modifications. LH11 is a Queensland modification code that can apply to campervan conversions. Where a QLD mod plate is required, it is issued by an appropriately licensed certifier. Gold Coast Campervans does not claim to issue those plates ourselves.

Seating changes, gas work and 240 V electrical work can each require their own paperwork depending on the build. A pop-top also changes the vehicle structure, so additional assessment may be required. The exact requirements are specific to the vehicle and the work being carried out.
